Position description

The Velicogna Research Team in the Department of Earth System Science at the University of California, Irvine has an opening a Postdoctoral Scholar to work for a University of California Climate Action project to combine Earth Science, remote sensing science, AI, and Agriculture to develop a fusion outlook product that employs model forecasts, in-situ, and satellite data for forecasting sub-seasonal to seasonal (S2S) variation of California hydroclimate. The work will be conducted at UC Irvine in collaboration with UC-Agriculture and Natural Resources extension specialists, the California Department of Water Resources, farmers, and private companies. We seek enthusiastic candidates with a suitable Ph.D. degree, proficient programming skills, and demonstrated ability to present and publish research.

This project is transdisciplinary in nature. The applicant will work collaboratively with team members at UCI, NOAA, industrial partners, and interact with stakeholders at the local and at the state levels.
