Title: The caves of central Vietnam: climate of the past and present

Abstract: Central Vietnam hosts some of the largest caves in the world and its unique climate allows us to investigate past rainfall variability related to the winter monsoon. I will be talking about our ongoing work in central Vietnam, with a focus on stable isotopes in rainfall, cave monitoring, and fieldwork.

The Department of Earth System Science acknowledges our presence on the ancestral and unceded territory of the Acjachemen and Tongva peoples, who still hold strong cultural, spiritual and physical ties to this region.
