Title: Modulating the ocean carbon sink and transport by the overturning circulation under climate warming

Abstract: The ocean carbon sink plays a crucial role in removing anthropogenic CO2 from the atmosphere. The meridional overturning circulation (MOC), exercises an important control on how carbon is transported and distributed in the ocean and further impacts the uptake of anthropogenic CO2 from the atmosphere. In this talk, I will present my ongoing research on how the slowing MOC modulates the ocean carbon sink and transport under the business-as-usual warming scenario (RCP8.5) based on an offline model that I built up.
