Department Seminar: Donatella Zona
Title: The Arctic’s Changing Landscape: Long-Term Climate Impacts on Tundra Ecosystems
Abstract: Dr. Donatella Zona will present an overview of her research on the impacts of climate change on Arctic ecosystems. This seminar will synthesize key findings from two decades of field-based observations and experiments, highlighting how Arctic ecosystems are responding to rapid environmental change and their role in the global carbon cycle.
Dr. Zona will also discuss ongoing research in her lab, including current field campaigns, experimental studies, and efforts to improve predictions of greenhouse gas fluxes under future climate scenarios. FInally, she will provide a brief overview of complementary research activities conducted by her group beyond the Arctic, including research in chaparral, marine/freshwater ecosystems, etc.
