| Postdoctoral Scholar: The Department of Earth System Science at the University of California, Irvine seeks a postdoctoral research associate to work in the area of atmospheric dynamics, both in analyzing re-analysis data and dynamical modeling. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on topics relevant to tropospheric dynamics, especially the effects of Rossby wave breaking and its outcome on the large scale flow. This work has important implications for teleconnection mechanisms, the intraseasonal NAO and the influence of monsoonal circulations on the downstream flow fields. Scientists with a strong dynamics background are encouraged to apply. A PhD in atmospheric or related sciences is required. The initial appointment is for one year that may be extended for up to three years. Annual salary depends upon qualifications, starting at $42,780. The appointment includes medical, dental and vision insurance. Please send a CV with the names of three references to Prof. Gudrun Magnusdottir, Dept. of Earth System Science, University of California, Irvine, CA 92697-3100, or by email to gudrun@uci.edu. The University of California is an equal opportunity employer committed to excellence through diversity. | Graduate Students: Wanted: Intelligent, eager individuals who would like to learn more about climate dynamics, geophysical flow and more!
