2001-present:
ACE/MAESTRO : Atmospheric Chemistry Experiment /
Measurements of Aerosol Extinction in the Stratosphere and Troposphere Retrieved by Occultation.
A Canadian staellite launched in August 2003 measuring
important atmospheric trace gases and aerosol.
Concept Drawing
- 1999-present: 3-D modelling of the global
troposphere and stratosphere using the
UCI CTM (chemical transport
model) and the GISS climate model: (i) modelling isotopomers of N2O
and (ii) interactive ozone in GCM.
-
1997-present: Trace-gas retrievals from the Optical Spectrograph and Infra-Red
Imaging System
( OSIRIS
) which measures scattered light from Earth's limb
on-board the
Odin
satellite (launched in February 2001).

1994-present: Numerical modelling of multiple scattered polarized radiation
in Earth's atmosphere and model development.
Previous:
- 1998-2001: Modelling of the global
troposphere and stratosphere using the
UCI CTM (chemical transport
model): (i) developing a linearized chemistry for use in
CTMs and GCMs and (ii) modelling NO2 slant column density
measurments between 1980-2000 made at Lauder, New Zealand.
- 1996-1999: Inversion of spectroscopic data obtained
from the CPFM, a spectroradiometer on-board the
NASA
ER-2 high altitude research aircraft, with the aim of obtaining vertical
profiles of stratospheric ozone, NO2, BrO and aerosol.

1997: Calculation of atmospheric photodissociation coefficients,
especially over non-Lambertian surfaces with wavelength-dependent
reflectivities.
