Project Description

Scientific Questions

What are long term impacts of fires on vegetation recovery processes and trajectories?

Most studies of post-fire vegetation succession focus on small areas and the season immediately following the disturbance (Keeley et al. 2006, 2008; Hope et al. 2007). Less is known about the long-term ecological impacts of large or repeated fire. This uncertainty has contributed to the debate about the causes and ecological consequences of large fire (Keane et al. 2008).
