Example 1
Given a normal distribution with m = 50 and s = 10, find the probability that X assumes a value between 45 and 62.
The Z values corresponding to x1 = 45 and x2 = 62 are
Therefore,  P(45 < X < 62)
                = P(-0.5 < Z < 1.2)
                = P(Z <1.2) – P(Z<-0.5)
                = 0.8849 – 0.3085
                = 0.5764
