What Happened to N2?
qNitrogen (N2):
q   (1) is inert chemically,
q   (2) has molecular speeds too slow to escape to space,
q   (3) is not very soluble in water.
èThe amount of nitrogen being cycled out of the atmosphere was limited.
èNitrogen became the most abundant gas in the atmosphere.
