Changes in Circulation of Deep Water During Glaciations
qThe percentage of deep water originating in the North Atlantic and flowing to the equator during the last 1.25 Myr has been consistently lower during glaciations than during interglaciations.
qIn general, southern-source waters (deep water formed near Antarctica) dominated tropical Atlantic waters during glaciations. Northern-source water (deep water formed in the North Atlantic) dominated tropical Atlantic waters during interglaciations.
