The project I will be involved with at UCI is the atmospheric modeling of a fungal spore which causes Valley Fever. Valley Fever is an endemic disease in the Southwestern United States; by modeling the transport we can better predict where the spore will spread and how its movement will alter as our environment changes. Another interest of mine is applied meteorology, such as the meteorological impacts on air traffic transportation and ship routing.
