The Department of Earth System Science has immediate opening for one postdoctoral researcher. The project seeks to better understand the interactions between Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. The work involves analyzing reanalysis data, assimilation products, and coupled model simulations, as well as performing numerical experiments with coupled atmosphere-ocean general circulation models (CGCMs).

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in atmospheric science, physical oceanography, or related discipline. Preference will be given to individuals with prior experience working with CGCMs and with strong Matlab programming skills. Salary is commensurate with experience. The initial appointment for this position is one year, with renewal contingent on the availability of funds.
