Our 9-week summer fellowship program enables eight undergraduates to conduct scientific research in conjunction with a faculty member in the Department of Earth System Science (ESS). The program theme is biogeochemical cycling and climate change, with diverse research projects involving studies of atmospheric chemistry, ecosystem dynamics, air-sea and air-land interactions in the context of a changing climate.
Through lecture series and reading group activities students gain an understanding of the Earth System and insights into cutting edge research taking place within the department. The program provides a stipend of $3600.00, travel assistance, research course credit, room and board. This program is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF).
