ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must have completed at least two years of school work towards their Bachelor's degree in a scientific major relevant for Earth System Science. Preference will be given to students that have completed three years of school work. Applicants also must be continuing their undergraduate education working towards their degree in the fall of 2009. Students from underrepresented groups and institutions with limited research opportunities are especially encouraged to apply. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. and its possessions.

Application Process.
A complete application package includes completed application form, transcripts, and two letters of recommendation.
1. Students should familiarize themselves with the projects available for this summer and the faculty sponsors through this website and the faculty homepage websites. Students with questions about a particular project should contact the supervising professor for that project.
2. Students should fill out the application and mail in by February 15, 2009.
3. Students should submit a copy of their transcripts including current classes by February 15, 2009.
4. Students should have two letters of recommendation sent directly to the program by February 15, 2009.
