Post-doctoral Scholar in ocean biogeochemical modeling. The Department of Earth System Science at the University of California, Irvine seeks a postdoctoral scholar to participate in research on ocean biogeochemical cycles. The project involves the continued development of computationally efficient global ocean biogeochemistry models. The successful candidate will work closely with Fran¨ois Primeau and Keith Moore to construct and test hypotheses regarding the role of the iron cycle, particulate fluxes and re-mineralization profiles on the large-scale distributions of biogeochemical tracers during past and present climates. The position will be initially for 1 year, renewable up to 2.5 years, salary commensurate with qualifications. The successful candidate should have a PhD in oceanography or related fields. Experience with developing and running 3D ocean general circulation models including biogeochemical modules is desirable.  Send applications including CV, a statement of research interests and a list of three references to: Dr. Fran¨ois Primeau, Rm 3216 Croul Hall, Department of Earth System Science, University of California, Irvine, Irvine, CA 92697-3100. Electronic submissions are preferred and can be sent to fprimeau@uci.edu.
