Open positions: Thank you for your interest in our lab. All of our open positions have been filled.
Graduate study
I am not currently accepting new graduate students. However, we have a large number of faculty that study global change ecology at UC Irvine. You may find another lab that fits your interest at this website.
Undergraduate research
Undergraduates are an important part of our lab. We train students to use a variety of field measurement and laboratory techniques in ecology and environmental science, with the ultimate goal of developing independent research projects with undergraduates. UC Irvine undergraduate students interested in conducting research in my lab can receive credit through the BIO 199 program, or by registering for ESS 199. UC Irvine students can also apply for summer stipends for research through the UROP program. Work study or other paid part time and summer positions are sometimes available. Undergraduate researchers from outside UC Irvine can apply to the Dept. of Earth System Science Research Experience for Undergraduates Program. Contact me for information about potential positions, training opportunities and research projects.
Post-doctoral research
If you are interested in conducting independent research in my lab (or other labs), there are ongoing fellowship programs that may be applicable to your research topic through the University of California Office of the President, the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, the NOAA Climate and Global Change program, and other agencies. Contact me if you are considering an application.
