Surface Reflection

In order to complete the solution to the equation of radiative transfer, the lower boundary condition, or ${\b I}(\tau_1;\mu,\phi)$ from equation (2.78), needs to be specified. Physically, this boundary condition represents the radiation reflected by the Earth's surface.
