Francesca Hopkins

Co-Founder, Executive Director, Curriculum Developer, Presenter
Born and raised in Sonoma County, Francesca Hopkins has lived in California all her life, with occassional sojourns to Latin America for study and research. She graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 2005 with the Departmental Citation in Environmental Sciences, and a second degree in Spanish Language. Francesca began her research on the effects of climate change on carbon cycling in soils while working as a research associate at the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. She is continuing this line of investigation in the PhD program in Earth System Science at UC Irvine. Francesca has shared her enthusiasm for science and the environment through involvement with the Sonoma County Expand Your Horizons program and formerly a a reporter for the Daily Californian.
