Colene Haffke

Board Member, Presenter
Colene Haffke is a PhD student in the Earth System Science Department at University of California, Irvine. She is currently studying the variability of the South Pacific Convergence Zone, a region of low-level wind convergence associated with frequent convection and rainfall. Previously, Colene attended the University of Michigan where she obtained a degree in Earth System Science and Engineering from the College of Engineering. Colene grew up near Omaha, Nebraska where she became interested in weather at a young age watching thunderstorms in the spring and summer. Eventually her love of severe weather led to an interest in climate and the Earth system as a whole. Colene now shares her love of weather and all aspects of the Earth system with a new generation of children through CLEAN education.
