Works to improve our understanding of global change and disturbance dynamics in terrestrial ecosystems.
Uses remote sensing data, atmospheric carbon dioxide observations and Earth system models in new ways to study feedbacks between human activity, ecosystem processes and climate.
Research interests include fires, greenhouse gases, land cover change, tropical deforestation, global change in arctic and boreal ecosystems, biogeochemical cycles, remote sensing and climate policy.

Expert in global change and disturbance dynamics in terrestrial ecosystems. Uses remote sensing data, carbon dioxide observations and Earth system models to study interactions between human activity, ecosystem processes and climate.
