Postdoctoral Scholar Opportunities in Hydrological Modeling and Remote Sensing

Position Filled

The Department of Earth System Science at the University of California, Irvine seeks 2-3 postdoctoral scholars in the following areas:

1. large-scale hydrological model development for climate applications;
2. integrated, catchment-scale hydrological model development for fire and landslide prediction; and
3. GRACE applications to terrestrial and global hydrology.

Applicants with skills in additional areas such as data assimilation of in situ or remote observations, or with other sensors such as microwave soil moisture or surface water altimetry, will also be considered. Successful candidates will also have opportunities to collaborate with members of UCI’s growing hydrology and water resources program in Civil and Environmental Engineering, as well as with other faculty in Earth System Science, the Center for Hydrometeorology and Remote Sensing, the Urban Water Research Center, the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology (Calit2) and the newly formed Environment Institute.
