Assistant Professor of Geosciences (U of LA at Monroe)

The Department of Atmospheric Science, Earth Science, and Physics (ASEP) at the University of Louisiana at Monroe invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Geosciences to begin in Fall 2012.   This position is contingent upon funding.

Qualifications: 

An ideal candidate would have a doctoral degree in geosciences or a related field.  ABD candidates in final stages of dissertation will also be considered.  Qualifications include:

  • Energetic and innovative teaching skills and the ability to function in a multidisciplinary department
  • Coursework and/or experience in atmospheric science, climatology, introductory geology, or oceanography
  • A research agenda and the ability to provide undergraduate research experience
  • Experience with scientific computing and relevant computer applications
  • Ability to develop and teach online courses preferable
  • Effective oral and written communications skills
