I graduated from UCI in June 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Earth System Science. Shortly after I was hired by Jay Famiglietti to obtain and analyze GRACE data and present it in our website. Although I had extensive practice in ENVI, a program that analyzes satellite data, I am currently learning how to use MATLAB, the program used widely by hydrologists which manipulates matrices to plot functions and process images.

Once I become fluent with MATLAB, I will process the GRACE data sets from JPL, CSR, and GRZ and compare them. Once we have decided which sets we want to use I will manipulate the data in MATLAB to generate images of the spatial and temporal changes of Total Water Storage Anomalies (TWSA).

I found my passion for this type of research in a remote sensing class during my last quarter of college. I greatly enjoy working with numerical data sets and turning them into something people can understand. Eventually, I plan on obtaining my Ph.D. in remote sensing; until that time I plan on conducting my own research in oceanography and hydrology.
